• After collecting all the necessary equipment, and having become acquainted with the guide and the cook for this trek, we leave for Huyana Potosi base camp: this takes about one-and-a-half hours.

• Two to three hours' walk to the higher camp for lunch; afternoon, walk of one or two hours; dinner; rest.
• At about 12.30 after lunch, carrying all the necessary equipment and clothing required , we begin the trek to the summit of Huyana Potosi.
This trek takes five or six hours, and includes parts where walking is relatively easy, but others where strong physical qualities are required
to surmount the difficulties. The passage known as "La Petite Pelle" is one of the first of such challenges: it is an 80m wall on which one
must show real nerve, whilst following the instructions of the guide at all times. After a further hour's march or so one arrives
at "La Grande Pelle", a point at which one must apply all known techniques in order to attain this summit of 6088m.
• Having gained the summit and enjoyed the view - it's like touching the sky - one begins the descent. The trekkers preceed the guide,
following his orders precisely. The descent takes three to four hours, depending on how much energy you've got left.
On arrival at the high camp, we relax and eat. The descent to base camp is completed the following day, from whence you will be transported
to La Paz.
and so ends the tour.
Please note/ Persons undertaking this tour should inform their guide of any physical indisposition or fatigue likely to impede the progress of the trek to the summit. This is less important on the return to high camp. What matters is your physical well-being and the safety of this activity.
